Science Museum of Minnesota: Saint Paul, Minnesota
Saint Paul’s Science Museum of Minnesota is an education-focused museum with a number of varying exhibits that range from sports science and the human body to Native American history and mathematics.
The museum offers visitors a scenic view of the flowing Mississippi river just outside its windows. While there are several indoor exhibits, guests can explore its outdoor grounds to discover more than 10 acres of exhibit space with a beautiful surrounding view.
The museum’s omnitheater will reopen in October and present an exciting new feature: Superpower Dogs. The 90-foot domed screen will tell the story of six incredible canines as they “brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species like rhinos and elephants, and transform lives.”

Rat basketball has been a long-time favorite at the museum. It features a number of “rat-letes” as they utilize their training on the court for their museum debuts in a full-fledged rat basketball game.
While the museum has been around since 1949, the museum has now branched to four museums throughout three cities across the Carolina’s. It continues to be a cultural and educational pillar to the region and is increasingly building bridges to STEM groups and education outlets.
Center of Science and Industry: Columbus, Ohio
The Center of Science and Industry, also known as COSI, is a hands-on, interactive science center for visitors of all ages.
The idea of opening COSI started in 1957 when Sanford N. Hallock II decided that the city of Columbus needed a museum of science after visiting Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. Less than ten years later that vision became a reality and doors opened to COSI where they’ve taught visitors about space, technology, and energy for half a century.
COSI’s planetarium covers everything there is to know about the solar system, and the museum’s Giant Screen Theater takes its visitors on adventures that range from the depths of the oceans to the rocky mountains on a railway express.
